Why the BQ Open Exists

The BQ Open is more than a golf tournament.

It’s a way to bring people together around something that matters — using golf as a natural gathering point to support men’s mental health and carry Braxton’s legacy forward in a meaningful, lasting way.

Golf as the Gathering Point

Golf creates space for connection in a way few other things do. The BQ Open brings people together on the course — competing, spending time, and building relationships — without pressure or pretense. It’s about showing up, sharing the day, and being part of something bigger than the scorecard.

Supporting Men's Mental Health

Men’s mental health often goes unspoken. The BQ Open helps raise awareness, reduce stigma, and connect people to trusted local resources in a way that feels approachable and authentic.

Building a Lasting Legacy

The BQ Open honors Braxton by turning what he loved into something that continues to help others. Through this annual event, his legacy lives on in the people supported, the conversations started, and the impact created year after year.
